Animals Found in the Desert

 

The Arabian Camel is the most known animal found in the Arabian Desert. This animal is thriving in the desert because of their ability to store up to 80 lbs of fat in a hump on their back. This gives allows them energy when none is available.

 

The Scarab Beetle thrives in the Arabian Desert because of its ability to survive off of available energy supplies such as dung and plant material.

 

The Egyptian uromastyx is the most common lizard found in the Arabian Desert. It is able to survive in the desert because the live in underground burrows to protect themselves from the sun and predators.

 

Birds, such as vultures and buzzards, pass through the Arabian Desert very frequently. They can survive for sometime because they are scavengers. They find things that have deceased in the desert and eat them for energy.

 

An invader species found near Dubai is the Garra Ruffa Fish which is commonly known as the Wadi fish. It can be used for dead skin treatments. This fish originated from the turkish towns Kangal and Sivas and they were brought to Dubai because people wasnted to use them for their treatments. These fish and the use of their treatmen can be found in the Wild Wadi water park in dubai.
